Michael Gasparrini, LMT
Began his career by graduating from Balance Massage School of Vermont in 2022 and has continued to develop and practice his trade since. Michael found his initial inspiration to pursue massage therapy in his passion for parkour, acrobatics, and movement overall. His experience with the broad range of what the human body is capable of led him to wonder how to better care for it and the mind from which it is inseparable.
Michael’s philosophy for massage therapy is to create space for people to open up and expand, guiding their awareness to the mind and body they inhabit. He has studied Swedish and deep tissue among other modalities of massage; however, the greatest influence on his style is Lomilomi: the traditional Hawaiian approach. He tailors each session to the individual and works with his clients to discover what it is that could help them most.
LomiLomi
Is the bodywork tradition of the Hawaiian Islands originally practiced by their spiritual leaders. In its traditional form, Lomilomi differs from most western modalities of massage and bodywork in that it is viewed as a form of prayer and meditation. Lomilomi also takes its inspiration from the ocean; primarily using long flowing strokes along the body from head to toe (with the application of oil), but can also include techniques that can be performed entirely over clothes. The overarching emphasis of Lomilomi is to create a space in which one can feel heard and focus on nurturing self-compassion.
